Bundaberg Library Book Week Events

The Bundaberg Library Book Week Celebrations are set to get your creative juices flowing.

This year’s Book Week theme is Escape to Everywhere, which encourages children to use their imagination!

The celebrations will kick off on Friday 18th August with a special evening event at the Library and then continue throughout book week with self guided activities located around the Library. Book Week will close with the Library hosting a community event Lets go Boating Under the Bridge on Saturday 26th August.

Library After Dark Event

​Friday 18th August | 5:30pm-7pm


Meet at the Bundaberg Library for a special night of fun to celebrate Book Week. Come dressed as your favourite storybook character.

The night will include:

  • craft
  • activities
  • giveaways
  • light refreshments

Bookings required - book from Monday 7th August by phoning 4130 4140 or at the Library counter

Baby Giggle & Wiggle

A program of songs, rhymes, and movement for parents and their babies aged from birth to walking.

Dottie Lottie at Story Time

Wednesday​ 22nd & Friday 25th August 

10am to 10:45am


Pprogram of stories, singing and simple craft for parents and their children aged from 2.5 to 5 years. Dottie Lottie from the Bundaberg Regional Galleries is back from her Hawaiian vacation and will be making a special visit to Story Time this week.

Program of singing, rhymes, and stories for parents and their babies aged from walking to 2.5 years.

Lets of Boating Under the Bridge

​ Sturday 26th August | 9am to 12 noon


Please join us Under the Bridge for a fun morning where we will embrace talking, playing, singing, and reading with children.  

The morning will be jam packed with fun play experiences inspired from the book Who Sank the Boat?  by Pamela Allen.

Join us as we host an event full of fun play experiences inspired from the book Who Sank the Boat, by Pamela Allen.under the Burnett Traffic Bridge.

Come and play with us we will be:

  • Pumping yabbies and checking the crab pots
  • Telling stories and singing around the campfire
  • Ships ahoy! Playing dress-ups. Will you be a pirate, sailor or ships captain?
  • Sink or float? Playing with water-play games
  • Heading off on an enviro scavenger hunt
  • Getting dirty hand with some mud-play!
  • Building it up with NaturePlay QLD
  • Going on an adventure! Sailing the seas and walking the plank
  • Making a rod and fish off our island
  • Searching for buried treasure and filling our pockets with gold!​​


Joanne is many different things. She is a single mum of two, psychology student, daughter, big sister, friend, handywomen, cook and podcast nerd! Jo has an avid interest in health and wellness which eventuated after the birth of her second child who was born allergic and intolerant to the world (or so it seemed!).
