Check Out the Nature Playground along Washpool Creek.
Tucked away in Bundaberg South, the playground at Lathouras Court is a great little spot to visit if you’re after a quiet, shady place for the kids to play. Surrounded by trees and natural features, this park has a relaxed feel and is designed to blend in with its bushy setting is part of the Washpool Creek Naturalisation project.
There’s a fort, slide, climbing equipment, double swing and balancing elements made from mostly natural materials. It’s all been designed to suit the environment around it, and it’s well-shaded by large trees. Whether you’re walking the dog, out for a morning stroll or heading out with the kids, it’s the kind of place you might just stumble across and decide to stay a while.
The playground sits at the end of a shared-use path that starts back at Ford Street and winds its way through Bundaberg Baldwin Swap, following Washpool Creek. Along the way, there are bridges over creek areas, a log trail, and multiple seated rest spots where you can take a breather or enjoy the view.
At the Lathouras Court end of the trail, the play area is easy to access on foot, scooter or by bike and includes a picnic shelter.
If you’re looking for a new walk or a peaceful play area in town, check this one out.
