8 Free Things to do in Agnes Water with Kids

CHECK OUT THE PAPERBARK FOREST BOARDWALK

This is an absolute must do! It's a nice short walk over a 400m circuit through picture perfect paperbark wetlands

HAVE A PLAY & PICNIC AT TOM JEFFREY PARK 

This lovely shady park has had a recent makeover. It is the perfect spot for a picnic after a swim. 

Situated in Jeffrey Court the park leads to the main beach at Agnes Water and includes a playground, bbq's, picnic tables, great toilet and change facilities and lots of shady trees.

EXPLORE SOME ROCK POOLS

We love the rock pools accessible from Captain Cook's landing site and part of the Joseph Banks Regional Park.  

There are tracks which lead from the landing site down to the rock pools.

GO TO ROUND HILL LOOKOUT

You can access the Wave Lookout and the Bustard Bay Lookout from here both are beautiful.

Our Wide Bay Kids climbed down to the small bay at Wave lookout and explored, they even found a cave!

Both lookouts have amazing views with walks ranging from 1 to 5 minutes.

GO FOR A SWIM

We have two favourite swimming spots

The main beach at Agnes Water which is patrolled by lifesavers and can be accessed via Jeffrey Court.

Our other favourite is at Seventeen Seventy along Captian Cook Drive. 

There is a great boardwalk which extends along Captain Cook Drive and between 2 parks with playgrounds the Air Sea Rescue Park and Endeavour Park.

CHECK OUT THE SKATE PARK & PLAYGROUND

The Agnes Water Skate Park is located on Springs Road in a quiet bush setting.

The skate park includes a small adjoining playground suitable for kids under 10.

The park has great facilities including toilets, bbq's, and picnic tables.

TAKE A WALK

Agnes Water and 1770 are great places to experience bush walking tracks that overlook the ocean.  The Discovery Trail  walk is located behind the Information Centre and an easy 20 minute walk.

The half way point of the walk includes direct beach access and another amazing lookout.

Two other walks on our list are the Red Rock Walking Track which is opposite the Paperbark Track,  and Round Hill Creek Track which starts at Captain Cooks Landing Monument and includes lots of butterfly's in butterfly season. See our map below for exact locations.

TRY GEOCACHING

There are 3 great geocaches at 1770 that we had fun locating.  

Geocaching involves finding hidden treasure via an online app that someone else has planted. Members of the Geocache community disguise caches and hide them in public areas all around the world.
