Maryborough Aquatic Centre

We love this place and its right in the centre of town, just a block away from the Town Hall. There is an awesome water play area for younger children including a tipping bucket, water sprays from every direction and various little lagoons. There is also a 25m and 50m pool for the bigger kids and lots of shade, a bbq and picnic tables and benches.

The Aquatic Centre is located at John Street, Maryborough

Queens Park

Our Wide Bay Kids love this park especially the large Banyan Tree located near the rotunda. They love playing hide and seek at the tree and its always hard to tear them away. This park is great for scooters, bikes, and skates and has some lovely picnic spots.

The park hosts mini melsa trains on the last Sunday of each month. You can also catch the Mary Ann steam train on Thursdays from the park.
Fay Smith Wetlands

Fay Smith Wetlands is a great little nature reserve to explore with kids. It’s one of the last remaining wetlands in the area and includes a series of well-maintained tracks and boardwalks as well as lots of local wildlife.
Wharf Street Museum Precinct

This pretty historic area adjoins Queens Park. It includes 3 Portside museums as well as Gatakers Artspace. You will also find heritage-listed restaurants and cafes to explore.
Geocaching

Geocaching involves finding hidden treasure via an online app which someone in your community has planted. Some caches have small prizes inside for kids that can be exchanged as well as logs to sign to confirm your find. We found a few interesting caches around the Maryborough CBD.
Anzac Park & Ululah Lagoon

What a great park this is catering for all ages and abilities. There are playgrounds for toddlers to big kids and adults with most shaded by trees and sails.

The park is centered around Ululah Lagoon with great paths and cycle tracks. Lots of big tress with plenty of space for a picnic and a newly opened refurbished skate park.
