Grab Your Monthly Gift for Kids at Bundaberg Libraries
Bundaberg Regional Libraries and First 5 Forever are teaming up to bring you a fun and exciting campaign that helps children build their brains through talking, reading, singing, and playing. From December 2025 to March 2026, children aged five and under can collect a different free gift each month from their local library in Bundaberg, Childers, Gin Gin and Woodgate, while stocks last.
All you need to do is visit your library with your little one to pick up the gift for the month!

What is the First 5 Forever?
First 5 Forever is all about promoting the importance of early childhood learning. By engaging in activities like singing, reading, and talking with your child, you’re not only creating fun memories but also supporting their brain development. The free gifts are a great way to get involved, but they’re just the beginning! Learn more about First 5 Forever here.
How Does It Work?
There’s no cost, no membership, and no registration needed to take part! Simply visit your local library with your child each month to collect that month’s free gift. The gifts are designed to celebrate the First 5 Forever focus on the joy and benefits of talking, reading, singing, and playing with children under five. Be sure to keep visiting each month to collect all four, and discover what else your local library has to offer!
Why Participate?
Making talking, reading, singing, and playing part of your everyday routine is key to your child’s growth and development. These small activities can make a big impact and give your child a great start in life. Plus, it’s fun for both you and your child!

Programs
Bundaberg Regional Libraries, host regular programs for children aged five and under and their primary caregivers. Please note these regular programs are currently on a break and will resume in February 2026.
Regular programs include:
Bundaberg Library:
- Baby Rattle & Rhyme: Mondays at 10 am during term time (for parents and their babies aged birth to walking)
- Toddler Sing & Smile: Wednesdays at 10 am during term time (for parents and their toddlers aged walking to three years)
- Learn & Play Storytime: Thursdays at 10 am during term time (for parents and their children aged three to five years)
Childers Library:
- Story Time: Wednesdays at 10 am during term time (for parents and their children aged five and under)
Gin Gin Library:
- Story Play: Mondays at 9.30 am during term time (for parents and their children aged five and under)
First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.
