Help Us Name the New Bundaberg Family Hub

Help Us Name the New Bundaberg Family Hub
Over the 7 months, Wide Bay Kids has been working closely with families, community members and Bundaberg service providers to bring a new Community Hub to life in Bundaberg. A safe, welcoming and inclusive space that connects people to the support they need, when they need it, in one location.
The Bundaberg Hub may act as a central point where children, families, and service providers come together. It’s more than a service centre it’s a place for connection, trust, and support, shaped entirely by the people who will use it. This new hub is being developed through a community-led process by Wide Bay Kids in partnership with IMPACT Community Services.
Earlier in the project, we put out a call for community members, service providers, and organisations to get involved. Since then, we’ve had hundreds of conversations, and dozens of consultation sessions with families, sector partners and local workers, all contributing to how this space will look, feel and function.
Now, we’re asking you to help us with one more but important decision choosing a name.
Two names have emerged from community conversations:
- The Nest
- The Nook
Both names reflect the sense of warmth, safety and togetherness that the community said was important for the hub. Whether it’s “The Nest” a soft place to land or “The Nook” a space to connect and feel safe, we want to hear which one speaks to you.
“Extensive community consultation has occurred over 2025 with families, service providers and community members all having their say,” said Angela Twyford, President of Wide Bay Kids. “We’re now wanting to nail down a name that is meaningful and reflects the heart of the Hub. It’s only fitting that it be selected by the community.”
This is your chance to help shape the identity of the Bundaberg Hub and it only takes a moment. Vote for your favourite name below or suggest a variation.
Voting is open until August 19, 2025
Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping us build something meaningful for the Bundaberg community.
