IMPACT Pop-Up Playgroup – Outdoor Fun at Boreham Park

If you’re looking for a simple, low-cost way to get out of the house with little ones these school holidays, a pop-up playgroup can be a real winner. It’s relaxed, outdoors, and gives kids space to move while parents and carers get a chance to chat and connect. IMPACT Community Services is hosting a Pop-Up Playgroup at Boreham Park in Avenell Heights, and it’s designed to be welcoming for families with young children.
This free Pop-Up Playgroup is open to anyone with children aged 0 to school age, running on Thursday 16 April 2026 from 9:00am to 11:00am (Brisbane time) at Boreham Park, 43 Avenell Street, Avenell Heights.
The first 50 children will get to make and take home a free healthy lunchbox, which is a handy, practical takeaway for families.
Families can also connect with a range of IMPACT teams on the day, including the Early Childhood Coordinator, Positive Start, Pathways to Early Learning & Development, Family Mental Health, Foundations for Life, and the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme.
Events like this are about more than keeping kids entertained. Outdoor play supports children’s development through movement, exploration, and social interaction — and it gives parents and carers a chance to meet other local families and build real connections. Having support services present also makes it easier for families to ask questions, find out what’s available locally, and feel more supported (without needing to book appointments or navigate systems on their own). It’s simple, community-focused, and genuinely useful.
