Mary Poppins Festival 2025

Mary Poppins Festival 2025
Step into a world of storytelling, imagination and family fun at the Mary Poppins Festival, returning to Maryborough on Sunday, 28 September 2025, from 9am to 3pm. This much-loved event transforms the Portside Precinct and Queens Park into a magical celebration of art, culture, music, literature, and of course, Mary Poppins herself. Best of all, entry is free.
Record Attempt
This year, festival-goers are invited to be part of history with an official Australian Book of Records attempt. Organisers are hoping to beat last year’s 182 participants in the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Mary Poppins-Themed Characters. To take part, come along in your Mary Poppins finery, sign in at 1.15pm, and be ready for the record attempt at 1.45pm on Wharf Street .
Program Highlights
The festival is packed with activities and entertainment for all ages. Popular favourites such as the Great Nanny Race (10.15am), Chimney Sweep Challenge (11.30am) and Costume Competition (12.45pm) will return, alongside the much-loved Grand Parade (2.15pm) .
On the Rotunda Stage, enjoy live music and entertainment from the Maryborough Excelsior City Band, Deano Yipadee, Flame Studios, and more throughout the day. Families can also enjoy all-day activities, including kite and umbrella decorating workshops, camel rides, artisan markets, amusement rides, roving entertainment, cookie decorating, lawn games, and miniature train rides .
