Mini-Makers: Printmaking at Childers Arts Space
If your child loves cutting, gluing, painting, or making things out of “found treasures” from the craft drawer, a printmaking activity can be a real winner in the Easter School Holidays. Mini-Makers: Printmaking at Childers Arts Space is a free, drop-in session designed for young artists to explore a fun technique and take home something they have made themselves.
This drop-in activity is inspired by The Unrequited Dream at Childers Arts Space and introduces kids to collagraph printmaking. In simple terms, children build their own “printing plate” using textured and recycled materials things like cardboard, fabric and found objects then ink it up and print their design onto paper. Along the way, they’ll experiment with texture, layering, and visual storytelling, creating a unique artwork to take home. The session runs on Friday 10 April 2026, from 9am to 4pm at Childers Arts Space. It’s free and no bookings are required, so families can drop in when it suits.
Hands-on arts activities like this do more than fill time they help kids build confidence and problem-solving skills through making.
