Youth Jam at the Bundaberg Civic Centre
Young musicians aged 9 to 18 are invited to take part in the 12th Youth Jam on Thursday 18 December. This relaxed and supportive music night brings young people together to play, learn and connect with others who share the same passion for music. Running from 6pm to 9pm at the Bundaberg Civic Centre, the event is designed to give young musos a safe and social space to jam, try out new sounds or simply listen along. There’s no pressure to perform and no expectations, making it a welcoming night for everyone from beginners to experienced players.

Participants are welcome to bring their own instruments or use the gear provided on the night, which includes drums, amps and a digital piano. The open jam format means young musicians can jump in at any time or take a break whenever they need. It’s an opportunity to meet new friends, learn from others and enjoy the freedom of making music in a community setting. Some participants choose to take the lead, others prefer to play quietly in the background, and some just enjoy watching. All approaches are encouraged.
Food will be available thanks to the support of Bundaberg Central Rotary Club, who will be cooking a $2 sausage sizzle and providing drinks. Young people can also bring their own food if they prefer. The event aims to create a relaxed and positive environment heading into the summer holidays, giving local youth a fun night out with music at the centre of it.
