School Holiday Drop-In Session in Gin Gin

School holidays are often full of half-finished creations on the kitchen table a drawing that’s “not done yet”, a LEGO build in progress, or a craft project that ran out of glue halfway through. This drop-in session is made for exactly that kind of creative energy. UFO – UnFinished Objects invites young artists, makers and families to bring along their unfinished projects and spend an afternoon making, experimenting and sharing ideas with others. It’s relaxed, friendly, and built around the idea that creativity doesn’t have to be perfect to be worthwhile.
The UFO – UnFinished Objects School Holiday Drop-In Session runs on Friday 10 April, from 1pm to 4pm at the Gin Gin Community Hub Families are encouraged to bring their unfinished projects and dive back in whether it’s painting, LEGO, sewing, sculpture, jewellery, or something completely different. The session also includes a fun “swap” element, where participants can add their own twist to someone else’s creation, explore new techniques, and see where their imagination takes them. All ages and experience levels are welcome, and it’s designed to be a low-pressure environment where “anything goes”.
A drop-in maker session like this does more than fill in an afternoon it helps kids and adults practise creativity as a skill. It encourages collaboration, sharing ideas, and seeing projects through, even when they get tricky or messy. At the end, there’s a group exhibition where participants can see their swapped artwork come to life and meet the maker who added their magic a lovely way to celebrate the process, not just the finished product.
