School Holiday Makerspace Workshops | CQUniversity Bundaberg
These school holiday workshops offer fun and engaging experiences for children aged 4 to 16 years. Each session is designed to inspire imagination and build practical skills through making, building, designing, and exploring. Children can take part in a variety of hands-on activities, including introductory robotics, drone challenges, creative construction, and more.
Monday, 29th September
10:00 am – 11:30 am: Robot Mania! (Age Guide 8–16)
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm: LEGO® Robotics: Dragster Dash! (Age Guide 8–16)
Wednesday, 1st October
10:00 am – 11:30 am: Coding Adventures (Age Guide 4–10)
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Drones (Basics) | Level 1 (Age Guide 8–16)
Friday, 3rd October
10:00 am – 11:30 am: Drones (Advanced) | Level 2 (Age Guide 8–16)
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm: LEGO® Robotics: Amusement Park (Age Guide 8–16)
Robot Mania!
Get hands-on with Ozobots and Dash robots. Use colour codes and coding apps to complete interactive challenges that blend creativity with tech.
LEGO® Robotics – Dragster Dash!
Build, design, and race your own LEGO® dragster. This high-speed challenge is all about innovation, creativity, and racing fun.
Coding Adventures! – An Introduction to Coding
Perfect for beginners or older and younger siblings to enjoy together. Explore the basics of coding through fun activities with robots, games, and pattern challenges that spark creativity and problem-solving.
Drones (Basics) – Level 1
Discover the world of drones! Learn the different types, explore flight safety, practice basic flying skills, and get introduced to coding for automated drone flight.
Drones (Advanced) – Level 2
Take your drone skills to the next level with obstacle challenges and fun competitions. Note: Prior attendance at the Drones (Basics) workshop is required.
LEGO® Robotics – Amusement Park
Learn to code by building your own LEGO® amusement park. Use programming blocks to add sound, light, and movement to your fun-filled creations.
