1. Create a Plate – Gin Gin
Children under 12 can take part in a creative and colourful morning of porcelain plate decorating at Dear Street in Gin Gin. Held on Wednesday 17 December from 10am to 12pm, the Create a Plate session encourages kids to design and decorate their very own plate using bright colours and simple creative techniques. This free activity is a great way for families to enjoy a hands-on school holiday workshop that results in a keepsake children can proudly take home.

During the session, children will have the opportunity to experiment with patterns, colours and designs to personalise their plate. Create a Plate is run by Isis Child and Family Support and is part of their ongoing efforts to provide free, accessible holiday programs for local families. With limited places available to ensure plenty of space and materials, bookings are essential. This workshop continues to be popular each holiday season, offering a meaningful, screen-free activity that children can enjoy while connecting with others in their community.
2. Create a Mobile Using Cup Lids – Gin Gin
Children under 12 can enjoy a creative morning of crafting at Gin Gin on Wednesday 7 January 2026, designing their very own hanging mobile made from cup lids and sparkling beads. Held at 4 Dear Street from 9.30am to 11.30am, this free activity gives children the chance to experiment with colour, shape and simple construction techniques. With all materials supplied, it’s an easy and engaging holiday program for families looking for something hands-on and fun.

3. Kids Australia Celebration

4. “SEEN” – A Parent-TV Project (Gin Gin)
Parents and carers are invited to a community screening of SEEN on Tuesday 2 December 2025 in Gin Gin. More than just a documentary, SEEN is part of a broader movement centred on compassion, understanding and science-informed parenting. Hosted by Child and Family Support in partnership with Acorn Childcare Centre, the event offers an opportunity for parents to explore emotional development, healing, and new approaches to connection within the family home.

The film explores the science behind children’s behaviours, parent–child relationships and the ways in which adults can create environments that support emotional safety and lifelong resilience. It aims to empower families with practical insights while also encouraging conversations about modern parenting challenges. The session is designed to be thought-provoking, but also grounding, offering families a chance to reflect on what truly matters when raising children.
This community event provides a safe and welcoming space for parents to connect, ask questions and share their own experiences. Staff from Child and Family Support will be present for discussion and support, ensuring the evening feels supportive rather than overwhelming. Bookings are required to assist with planning and seating. SEEN continues to resonate with families across the region, making this a meaningful opportunity to learn, reflect and strengthen parenting approaches.
