We are Hiring a Community Program Officer

Wide Bay Kids is recruiting a Community Programs Officer to support the delivery of place-based programs that strengthen connection, resilience and access to support across the Wide Bay region.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with the community and has experience coordinating projects, events or programs in partnership with local organisations. The Community Programs Officer plays a key role in turning ideas, funding and partnerships into meaningful, on-the-ground outcomes for families, young people and the wider community.
Wide Bay Kids is guided by strong organisational values that shape how we work with communities and each other. Our work is grounded in community and connection, strengthening relationships so people feel part of something bigger. We prioritise family and safety, creating welcoming, child-friendly environments that support wellbeing and confidence. We are committed to support and inclusion, recognising barriers to access and ensuring diverse voices are welcomed, valued and empowered to engage. These values underpin all programs and partnerships delivered by Wide Bay Kids.
The position is for immediate start, offered as a contract through to December 2026. The role is hands-on and community-facing, working across a portfolio of programs that respond to local needs and priorities. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering activities such as events, workshops and community engagement sessions, while also managing relationships with partners, stakeholders and volunteers.
The role also includes responsibility for tracking program budgets, collecting data, and contributing to reporting and evaluation, ensuring programs are delivered in line with funding requirements. You will work closely with the Head of Programs and Partnerships and a wide range of delivery partners to ensure programs are inclusive, well coordinated and responsive to the community.
This position is based at our Bundaberg office, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available. 24–30 hours per week depending on operational needs and experience.
If you are passionate about community development, confident managing projects end-to-end, and enjoy working in a small, purpose-driven team, this could be a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in the Wide Bay region.
