Bluelight Disco – Christmas in July

The Bluelight Disco is back in Bundaberg, this time with a Christmas in July theme for local kids and teens.
Hosted by myPolice Bundaberg and North Burnett, the disco gives young people a supervised night out with music, dancing, games and prizes. It’s the kind of event that can be especially helpful for families looking for something social, affordable and age-appropriate, with separate session times for younger and older students.
The disco will be held on Friday 17 July at the Bundaberg Civic Centre. The first session runs from 5pm-7pm for children in Prep to Year 6, followed by a second session from 7:30pm-9:30pm for Year 7 to Year 12 students.
Entry is $5, and the event flyer notes that there will be canteen facilities and a sausage sizzle available. Families can expect a lively evening with music, games, prizes and a fun Christmas in July theme, giving kids a chance to dress up, bring friends and enjoy a safe community event.
Events like this are valuable because they give children and teens a chance to socialise in a supervised setting. For younger kids, it can be an exciting night out with friends. For older students, it offers a safe space to enjoy music and connection without needing to travel far or spend a lot.
Community discos also help build positive relationships between young people, families and local services. They create a simple, affordable way for kids to have fun while parents and carers know the event is organised and supervised.
