Botanic Gardens Hervey Bay
Botanic Gardens Hervey Bay
The Botanic Gardens Hervey Bay are a great place to explore with kids. Set on 26 ha there is plenty to see and do. Our Wide Bay Kids favourite areas were the Chinese and Exotic Rainforest gardens as well as watching the ducks from the Island stage.
Bush Walks
A large section of the gardens is dedicated to walking tracks through bush land. This is a great place to explore bush walking with kids right in the heart of town. The day we went we had scooters with us. We suggest you leave them at home if you intend to explore the bush walking section of the gardens.
Chinese Gardens
This Chinese themed garden is so pretty. Our Wide Bay Kids loved exploring it.
Exotic Rainforest
This area was amazing. We visited on a very hot day, the large tree canopy provided a wonderful escape from the heat. The kids loved walking through the lush rainforest setting.
Australian Rainforest
A great path suitable for scooters runs through the Australian rainforest section of the gardens.
Island Stage
Voted by our Wide Bay Kids as their favourite spot. They loved watching the ducks and the turtles on the water.
Picnic Spots
There are so many potential picnic spots scattered throughout the gardens. Bring your picnic rug and pull up a spot wherever it takes your fancy. There are 2 locations within the gardens which have shelter and bbqs.
Ducks
We have to mention the ducks. Our Wide Bay Kids were mesmorised by them. They loved just sitting and watching them.
