Bundaberg Regional Libraries provide an awesome service to our region.

We are so lucky to have 4 libraries: Gin Gin Library, Childers Library, Woodgate Library and Bundaberg Library.

Bundaberg Regional Libraries host regular children's session at the Bundaberg, Childers and Gin Gin Libraries. Read on to find out about all the Bundaberg Library Regular Services and Sessions for children.

Library Locations and Opening Times

Bundaberg Library Kids Sessions

Bundaberg Library hosts free activities and events for children from birth.

During school terms, these sessions include baby giggle and wiggle for children aged birth to walking, toddler rock and rhyme time for children aged from walking to 2.5 years, and story time for children aged 2.5 years to 5 years. Sessions involve a mix of story telling, singing, puppet play, and craft for the older children.

For older children and teens, the library hosts activities after school, during school holidays and on special occasions during the year.

TODDLER ROCK N RHYME:-

BUNDABERG: Tuesdays 10am - 10:30am (toddler to 2.5 years)

Staff present a program of singing, rhymes and stories.

BABY GIGGLE AND WIGGLE:- 

BUNDABERG: Wednesdays 10.00am - 10.30am (babies birth to walking)

Youth services staff present a program of singing, rhymes and movement. No bookings required. Sessions do not run during school holidays.

STORY TIME:-

BUNDABERG: Thursdays 10:00am, - 10:45am (ages 2.5yrs to 5ys)

Staff present a program of stories, and/ore puppets and simple craft.

AFTER SCHOOL ROBOTICS:-

BUNDABERG: Every second Thursday, 3.30pm - 4.30pm, Bundaberg Library

These sessions are designed to provide participants with opportunities to interact with contemporary educational robot devices and delivers a basic introduction to block-based programming. No prior robotics or coding knowledge is required. Library staff will issue challenges and assist participants to complete them. Ages 8+. Children under 14 years must be supervised by their parent/guardian. Bookings required.

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS:-

Gin Gin Library Kids Sessions

Gin Gin Library hosts free activities and events for children from birth.

During school terms, these sessions include story time for pre-school age children and involves a mix of story telling, singing, puppet play, and craft for the older children.

For older children and teens, the library hosts activities after school, during school holidays and on special occasions during the year.

STORY play:-

GIN GIN: Every Monday. 9:30am (pre-school age children)

Play, laugh, sing, rhyme and listen to stories with your baby and toddler helping to nurture their communication, language and social skills. Stay afterwards to watch your child play, chat to the facilitator or network with other caregivers.

Don’t worry – it’s designed especially for children 0-5 so if your baby is a bit noisy or your toddler won’t sit still, you’ll be joining families and library staff who completely understand! Everyone is welcome.

kids' book club:-

GIN GIN: 1st Thursday of the month (excluding public and school holidays). 3:15pm – 4:15pm

Get together with other book lovers, share your favourite books and do fun activities!

Board Games, Wi Console, iPads, Library Tours

Board games are available for loan from the Library. Search the online catalogue by choosing advanced search – then board games under ‘Collection’, click OK.

  • 1 board game or puzzle per library membership card
  • 3 week loan
  • board games and puzzles can be renewed and reserved

Wii Console Wii console is available to play for both adults and children

A Parent or Guardian must accompany children under 14 while they use the Wii.

Bookings required – 1 hour duration and only one use per day

Ipads

There is one Ipad available at each of the Bundaberg, Gin Gin and Childers Libraries

They are available for use by young children to play fun and educational games

No booking required

Library Tours

Schools, day cares, and kindergartens can attend a library tour

Sessions range from library orientation to storytelling and craft sessions for younger children
