The Bundaberg Model Railway Club Inc. is excited to announce an open day event on Saturday, August 10, 2024. This special day will run from 9 AM to 3 PM and will feature free admission for all attendees. The event will take place at the Old Showgrounds in Bundaberg, with the entrance located on Kensington Street, just 50 metres from Walker Street. Ample on-site parking is available for convenience.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore five club layouts and two "very small scale" private layouts, all in operation throughout the day. Club members will be on hand to welcome visitors and answer any questions. This family-friendly event promises to delight children,, as well as parents, grandparents, and other family and friends.

In addition to the fascinating model railway displays, the open day will include a colouring competition with prizes generously donated by Bundaberg Toyworld. Entry forms for the competition can be picked up at Bundaberg Toyworld on Takalvan Street. Attendees will also have a chance to win lucky door prizes.

To celebrate the club's 50-year anniversary, there will be a sausage sizzle and cold drinks available for purchase at the club room. This milestone event aims to draw as many visitors as possible to enjoy the hobby and help make the open day a resounding success.

The club's new N scale DCC layout, which is still under construction, will also be showcased. Visitors are encouraged to speak with club members about the exciting future plans for this project.
