Childers Festival 2022
Childers Festival 2022
We’ve been going to the Childers Festival almost every year since it started. It’s good fun and there is always a really a great atmosphere. We like to get there early to beat the crowds and the middle of the day heat. Make sure you take a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Wear a pair of good walking shoes and take cash. I always enjoy a bowl of Gourmet Calamari while listening to music on the main stage. I then browse the stalls while enjoying one of Mammino’s macadamia ice creams. The Childers Festival is a celebration of the people and heritage of Childers!
There are a range of unique events including old favourites like Sugar Mill and Cane Fire tours and Opera by the Lake, or new experiences in 2022 including a Feathers and Scales Tour and the Chilli Wing Eating Competition at Sunday's Festival Day!
When the highway closes on Sunday July 31st, Childers is transformed into an action-packed entertainment hub, hosting celebrity artists and headline acts, tribute performances and live music from every genre and decade.
The incredible markets will feature more than 300 stallholders where you can pick up a vintage treasure, sample local produce, admire hand-made gems and local arts and crafts.

The Australian Breastfeeding Association Childers Group feed and change tent will be located in Millennium Park in Crescent Street (behind the NAB and adjacent to the Children’s playground). There are also baby changing stations in the toilet facilities located in Millennium Park and at the Isis Cultural Centre on Churchill Street.
