Christmas Planning Advice from Organise Your…

Christmas is now only 2 months away, that is 9 weeks or 61 days.
If you have not already started planning, then now is a good time to start. Most suppliers are still taking orders and venues have some availability. To get you started on the right track here is how to Organise Your… stress free Christmas in 5 easy steps.
First set your expectations, goal or vision for Christmas. Decide what memories you want to create and with whom. Do you always do the same thing? Do you go away? Do you stay at home? Do you want something different? The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
Once you have this vision then all other decisions are easy, as the only question you need ask is “How is this helping to create my perfect memory for this Christmas?”
Secondly set your budget. Yes before you start list all the items you can potentially spend money on and write down a figure you can afford. Remember you have 2 months to save if you have not already started. Now it is a case of allocating a figure to each category or item. This will give you the basis of your budget. Remember it does not mean that you can only spend that amount, but you don’t want to overspend in all areas.
Thirdly write out your to-do list. This will vary depending on if you are having a formal or informal gathering. If you are staying at home, travelling away for the day or for a longer period of time.
Some items could be; book venue, someone to house sit, designated driver, order meat and seafood
You can keep it broad, or drill down to simple but necessary things, like buying napkins.
Fourth, you want to set your timeframe (order) and delegate. When you delegate make sure you share your vision for the memory you wish to create, so that you are all heading in the 1 direction. This is where the timeline becomes important as you don’t want to invite 100 guests only to find the largest venue will only hold 60 guests.
Lastly enjoy the memories and the day. Allow things to flow and evolve on the day. Your timetable should be a guideline not a dictator. If people are enjoying themselves let the ice-cream melt or put it back in the freezer!
I would love to help you create your special memories this year.
