Christmas Rum Balls Recipe
My first job was as an assistant baker at Cookie Man. My parents owned the local store in Bundaberg many years ago. My sisters and I would work at the shop on weekends and in the school holidays. During the Christmas season my mum would make 100's and 100's of Christmas Rum Balls, this is her recipe. I make rum balls every year for our family Christmas events during the festive season, it is one of my Christmas traditions.
Rum Balls are easy, fast and affordable to make. It is a fun and super easy recipe I use to make delicious Rum Balls. This recipe may be adapted to make various types of festive treats. You can substitute Rum with other flavours so they are alcohol free. You could try spices such as vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, or ginger to change the flavour.
The recipe takes less than 10 minutes to prepare and then it it all roll, roll, roll.
Christmas Rum Ball Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 500g chocolate chip cookies (my mum would use cookie man cookies, I used woolies brand)
- 1 x jar of Strawberry Jam
- 4 x Tablespoons Desiccated Coconut + to roll
- 4 x Tablespoons Coco
- 50mls Bundaberg Rum
Method:
- Crush cookies
- Add Jam, coconut, coco and rum
- Roll in coconut.
- Cool in fridge
