This week we sat down with Elisa Mayberry from First National Real Estate in Bundaberg. We discovered the history of the business, what she enjoys most about her work in Bundaberg. Community Highlight - First National Real Estate Bundaberg.
Tell us how you came to be in business in Bundaberg? Are you a local? If not, how did you decide to live here? Justin's, my husband, parents bought sugarcane farms back in the 90’s. They eventually moved to Bundaberg and retired here. Because of this we decided to move here as well to be close to family.
What do you enjoy the most about your work in Bundaberg? Meeting wonderful people from the area and being able to work with them.
How do you feel you are contributing to your area/industry in the region? Currently we are trying to encourage more investment into the area to deal with the housing shortage.
What are your hobbies or interests? Music, Sport, Craft? Growing vegetables in our home garden and cooking.
Where is your favourite place in the Wide Bay region? Why? Elliot Heads beach as we feel that it is possibly the best beach in the Wide Bay.
What is something we may not know about you? Any hidden talents? Both Justin and myself grew up in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea. So we have known each other since we were kids.
What would you like to see change in Bundaberg in the future? Have more things for young kids to do on a weekend. Our 4yr old was devastated when Chipmunks closed. It was sad to see so many businesses close because of covid.
If you could have one wish for the region what would it be? More rental houses for the region to accommodate the demand.
