Fair Dinkum Aussie Day Celebration

Fair Dinkum Aussie Day Celebration
Bundaberg City Daybreak Rotary Club is hosting the 2016 Fair Dinkum Aussie Day Celebration aka Australia Day celebrations. The theme is “Jackie Howe Australiana”.
Wear your best pair of thongs and your ‘Jackie Howe’ singlet, put on some sunscreen, slap on a hat and head over to the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens for a real Australia Day celebration.
Bundaberg Regional Council Community Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said Rotary had successfully applied to host the Australia Day celebrations on behalf of Council.
“Having local clubs and community groups come on board with the celebrations offers new ideas and new perspectives as well as the opportunity for groups to promote their particular organisation.
“Bundaberg City Daybreak Rotary Club has certainly put together a great program of events with activities scheduled to commence from 9am and run through until 12.30pm.”
Cr Peters said entertainment for the younger participants included the “Kiddiwinks Puppet Theatre” , crafts by Wide Bay Kids and steam train rides for all ages.
“As a special Australia Day treat Council has reduced the cost of admission to the Hinkler Hall of Aviation to just $5. Anyone who has not taken the opportunity to view this world class tribute to Bundaberg’s pioneering aviator son Bert Hinkler should treat themselves to a visit.
The Rotary Club has put together a program of games and entertainment that can involve the entire family. Anyone wishing to take a free shuttle bus to the event can catch the bus at the Bundaberg Post Office on the half hour from 8.30am until 10am.
