Festival of Health and Well-being Clinics to support Homeless Women in Bundaberg.

The Anglican Support Ministry is holding its first mini festival of women’s health and well being clinics on Thursday 8th September 2022 as part of Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week.
The mini festival of women’s health and wellbeing clinics supporting homeless or at risk of homeless women will include Bundaberg Street Law, the VacSeen Clinic, Hearing Australia and other community organisations providing pop up clinics on the day.
Jean Hailes have donated 100 bags which, with the help of St Luke’s Anglican School student volunteers, are being filled with donations of items suitable for women on the streets and will be distributed on the day.
The timing of the event will coincide with the Anglican Support Ministry soup kitchen operations on Thursday 8 September 2022 starting at 11am and concluding at 2pm, at 59 Woongarra Street on the corner of Maryborough Street.
The soup kitchen lunch is available from 12pm to 1pm. The festival is completely free and open to the public.
Women face some of the biggest housing affordability challenges in our community with poverty, financial inequality and other structural barriers placing them at risk of significant housing stress and homelessness.
You can help by donating Items (eg. soap, toothbrush, shampoo, hairbrush, socks, nail polish, hair ties / scrunchies etc) to be included in the bags.
Items must be brand new, still sealed, in original packaging. No items past their expiry date, no pharmaceuticals, no food /drink, no scissors, knives or razors.
Drop off points: St Luke’s Anglican School main office at 4 Mezger Street Kalkie and Anglican Parish of Bundaberg office at 59 Woongarra Street on the corner of Maryborough Street Bundaberg.
