Free Kids Craft Morning in Gin Gin

Winter School holidays are a good time for kids to try something creative, especially when it gives them a chance to learn about culture in a gentle and age-appropriate way. Little Hands, Big Culture is a free cultural craft morning at Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre, inviting children to explore art activities inspired by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. It’s designed to be welcoming, hands-on and respectful, giving children space to create, ask questions and connect with ideas of culture, creativity and community.
This school holiday activity is for children aged 12 and under and will be held on Wednesday 8 July 2026, from 9:30am to 11:30am at Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre. The session will include Indigenous-themed craft activities, with a focus on helping children explore and celebrate culture through creativity. The event is free, but bookings are required, so families will need to RSVP before attending. The activity is connected with Gin Gin Child and Family Support, with bookings available by calling 4130 4630.
Creative activities are a simple but meaningful way for children to learn. Through making, colouring, designing and talking, kids can begin to build awareness of culture and community in a way that feels natural to them. Sessions like this also support connection between children, families, local services and the wider community. For parents and carers, it’s a practical holiday option that is free, local and suitable for younger children. It also gives families a chance to support respectful learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in a calm, hands-on environment.
