Fun Day to celebrate new Gin Gin Pool amenities
Get ready to welcome summer in style at the Gin Gin Swimming Pool with an official opening celebration of the new, modern Gin Gin Pool amenities on Sunday, November 13.
Bundaberg Regional Council Sport, Recreation and Venues portfolio spokesperson Cr David Batt said the recently completed new kiosk and new, larger amenities block was valued at $425,000.
“This is a very exciting project which has revitalised an essential recreational facility for the Gin Gin community,” Cr Batt said.
“We’re very pleased that we have been able to complete this construction project in time for the new facilities to be enjoyed during our peak summer swimming season.
“Residents may already have had the chance to enjoy these amenities which have been open to the public since late October.”
Divisional representative Cr Wayne Honor said the facility upgrade was a joint community partnership between Bundaberg Regional Council and Gin Gin Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank.
“Bendigo Bank will also host the official opening of the amenities block on Sunday, November 13 with free entry to the pool, free sausage sizzle, and free jumping castle” Cr Honor said.
“The official opening also coincides with Gin Gin Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank’s ninth birthday so will of course feature a birthday cake!
“This partnership with Bendigo Bank, which saw them make a $165,000 contribution towards the cost of construction of these facilities, highlights the great relationship the bank has with the Gin Gin community and its willingness to invest in community assets.”
The pool will open at 10am on Sunday, November 13 with the official opening ceremony to begin at 11am.
