InstantScripts
We know how hard it can be to access easy and affordable healthcare, with your local practice not always being the convenient option. That’s how we came across InstantScripts.
What is InstantScripts?
InstantScripts is a secure online digital healthcare platform run by Telehealth, that makes managing your health easy, affordable and efficient.
They offer prescriptions for customers after they complete a short digital consultation with an Australian doctor. Once the digital consultation is completed, the answers are quickly reviewed by a registered doctor and, if approved, a prescription is issued in minutes.
InstantScripts also offers one day or multiple day medical certificates if you are unable to work or go to school. Blood tests and personalised healthcare programs are also available all from the convenience of your home. As well as offering Telehealth consultations to speak with a doctor online for medical advice.
How Much Does it Cost?
- Prescriptions – $19.
- Same day Medical Certificates – $19.
- Online pathology test requests – $20.
- Telehealth consultations – $49.
- Specialist Referrals – $20
(Listed fees as of April 2023)
Consultations are a flat fee and are not timed. InstantScripts is a private practice and does not provide bulk-billing or Medicare rebate services.
When is InstantScripts not the right service
While InstantScripts can be a quick and easy way to renew scripts and quickly get needed medical certificates, it might not always be an option when it comes to your healthcare.
Telehealth services are great when convenience is your main goal, with a lack of wait times, commute considerations and potentially unnecessary fees. It also limits your risk of exposure to illness in doctors’ waiting rooms. Telehealth is a great alternative for many clinical appointments by expanding access to primary care.
However there are situations in which in-person care can greatly benefit you are your family.
In-person care allows for a more hands-on and in-depth approach to your healthcare, with physical examinations being able to be conducted thoroughly and valuable Doctor-Patient relationships being able to be built. In-person care also tends to be a better options for young children, where doctors can monitor the health of your child without digital barriers as well as having easier access to follow up procedures such as vaccinations.
