How to make a miniature Fairy Garden
Why not try to make a miniature fairy garden, troll’s den or mini-garden! This could be a fun weekend or school holiday activity to do with the kids.
We made a mini fairy garden just last weekend and it was sooooo much fun! Here’s how to do it:
What you need:
- A tray, pot plant base/saucer, shallow baking tray or similar.
- Soil, rocks, twigs, flowers, fabric. Use your imagination and search your garden for inspiration.
- Playdough or blue tac.
What you do:
- Add the soil and get creating! Decorate using the things you’ve collected from the garden.
- Use play dough or blue tac as a base for securing sticks and string to make a clothes line.
- Draw, colour and cut out clothing shapes and staple them to the line……or cut out pieces of clothing from magazines.
A mini gardens bring the outdoors inside and is a great activity to use as an extension to a storybook, movie or imaginary play.
