NAIDOC Celebration Day at Alexandra Park West

Families are invited to come together for a free NAIDOC Celebration Day at Alexandra Park West in Bundaberg, marking the end of NAIDOC Week with culture, community and connection.
Hosted by Taribelang Cultural Aboriginal Corporation, the event is a welcoming community day with free activities for all ages. It’s a chance for families to honour First Nations culture, spend time together, and take part in a local celebration that brings people from across the community into one shared space.
The event will be held on Friday 10 July 2026 from 10am-2pm at Alexandra Park West, Bundaberg.
All activities are free, with a full program including live entertainment from the Spargo Brothers, a BBQ, Cuppa Joes coffee van, kids activities, arts and crafts, face painting, games and more. Families can also enjoy cultural workshops, dance performances, storytelling, a yarning circle, and family and kids raffles.
NAIDOC events are important because they create space for families to learn, listen, celebrate and connect. For children, attending community celebrations like this can help build respect and understanding from a young age. They get to experience culture through music, dance, storytelling, art and shared community moments, which can often be more meaningful than learning about it only in a classroom setting.
For parents and carers, this is also a practical free outing during the school holidays. It gives families a reason to get out, enjoy the park, support community-led celebrations and be part of a day that honours culture, country and connection.
