The Paint Bundy REaD Hatching Day was amazing to experience.
The day started off with our community meeting at Buss Park and enjoying an awesome pop-up play date. There were free fun activities for children, lots of reading spaces with dress up’s and crafts, not to mention the mobile plan van was a huge hit!
Reading eggs arrive
With sirens blasting our reading eggs made their way via Fire Rescue and Police escort to centre stage. The hatching ceremony then began. Children read stories and sang to the eggs each guessing what would hatch from inside. The eggs then left the stage to hatch in private.
What hatched
To our amazement and delight the 2 eggs merged into one egg and out hatched a Turtle! Our community then had the opportunity to meet our Reading Egg Mascot.

The eggs and mascot are currently making their way around local childcare centres, schools and kindy’s. Children are loving the experience of singing, reading and talking to the eggs. If you would like the eggs to visit your organisation contact Becky Spruce
