Under the tuition of Andrea Ng, participants will learn some classic rock songs, improve their skills as musicians and boost their confidence.
This unique workshop for viola, violin, cello and double bass players will be held in the Bundaberg Regional Gallery amongst the touring ‘Pub Rock’ exhibition. This event offers the opportunity to share in music making together and to explore and immerse yourself intensively in the wondrous world of string playing within a friendly, supportive and social environment.
The 5-hour workshop will feature a musical repertoire of rock, inspired by the exhibition, under the tutelage of professional musician Andrea Ng.
This unique workshop is capped at 30 participants and will be open to string musicians aged 8 to 18 years, playing to a AMEB Grade 2 and above.
About the tutor – Andrea Ng graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance in 2009. As a highly skilled and sought-after violist, Andrea has played at some of the highest levels of the orchestral music world including Singapore National Youth Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Asian Youth Orchestra, Pacific Music Festival and Sydney Sinfonia. She was principal viola of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra for two years and associate principal viola of Sydney Youth Orchestra in 2005. She has worked with the world’s top musicians, members of the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic and principal players of major orchestras in the USA and Japan.
