Bundaberg is situated on the Burnett River a good 4 hour drive from Brisbane.  The town is surrounded by beaches and farming properties.  The neighbouring communities of Childers, Woodgate, and Gin Gin also form part of the region. 

Bundaberg is our Wide Bay Kids hometown and an area we feel very honoured to live in and call home.

During the school holidays there are lots of workshop, activities, coaching clinics and special events on offer to keep the kids entertained.

Make sure you don’t leave Bundy without first visiting one our the amazing beaches, taking a ride on the steam train at the Botanic Gardens, having a play at Alexandra Park Zoo and Playground or checking out the Hinkler Hall of Aviation, it’s a great interactive museum for kids. If you visit during Turtle season (November to March) make sure to take time to see the turtles.

The Fraser Coast is 3-3 1/2 hours drive from Brisbane and hosts both Maryborough and Hervey Bay as part of the region. Maryborough is surrounded by farming properties and is located on the Mary River while Hervey Bay is a seaside township. 

Hervey Bay is a great place for families to visit all year round especially during whale watching season. You’ll find lots of activities on offer from a short boat ride to the pristine World Heritage listed Fraser Island, to many iconic tourist destinations like the Fraser Coast Historical Museum or the free Water Park.

Hervey Bay is bursting with things to see and do with kids, try fishing, surfing, snorkeling, bush walking, playing family games on the long stretches of beach, skating, scooting or riding along the picture perfect foreshore. During the school holidays there are lots of workshop, activities, coaching clinics and special events on offer to keep the kids entertained.

Make sure you don’t leave Hervey Bay without first visiting their free Water Park, visiting one of their stunning beaches, checking out the interesting objects from the ‘olden days’ at the Hervey Bay Historical Village or taking a trip over to Fraser Island. If you visit during Whale watching season make sure to take time to see the whales.

Maryborough is a great country town oozing with history. The original wharf district is now home to vintage restaurants, pubs, museums and art galleries. Maryborourgh is located on the Mary River and just 3 hours north of Brisbane,

Maryborough is bursting with things to do with kids, try fishing, bush walking, playing family games in their fabulous Botanic Gardens, or visiting one of the Portside Museums.  During the school holidays there are lots of workshop, activities, coaching clinics and special events on offer to keep the kids entertained.

Make sure you don’t leave Maryborough without first visiting their famous Heritage Markets, take a ride on the Mary Ann steam train, visit the Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, or give the kids a ride on the mini MELSA trains.  If you visit during the Mary Poppins Festival you are in for a real treat.

The North Burnett region consists of a series of country towns: Gayndah, Biggenden, Mount Perry, Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera and their surrounding communities.  This is the Australian landscape at its best with mountain ranges, waterways, picturesque picnic spots and blue skyes in abundance.  If you love bush walking or fishing this region is a must place to visit.

The North Burnett is bursting with things to do with kids, try fishing, swimming in the local creeks and water holes, bush walking, camping, playing family games on the foreshore at Paradise or Monduran Dams, and exploring one of the local farms open to the public.
