U-BEACH - Community Beach Day
Get ready for the U-BEACH Community Beach Day on Friday, September 13th, at Nielson Park Beach in Bargara! This all-inclusive event invites people with disabilities of all ages, along with their friends, family, and carers, to enjoy a day of adapted beach activities. With support from physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and volunteers, participants can experience a range of activities, such as swimming, walking, kite flying, and sand games, using accessible equipment like beach mats, wheelchairs, and walkers for a safe and enjoyable beach experience.
Highlights of the Day:
- Inclusive Beach Activities: A wide range of beach games and activities are available for children, youth, and adults. Whether you want to relax by the shore or participate in ocean activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
- Specialized Beach Mobility Equipment: U-BEACH provides specialised beach mobility equipment to ensure everyone can take part. This includes physical assistance for transfers, hoists, and other supportive devices to facilitate beach and ocean activities.
- Fundraising Raffle & Sausage Sizzle: Attendees can look forward to a tasty sausage sizzle and a fundraising raffle with fantastic prizes. The proceeds help support future inclusive community events.
This day celebrates community spirit, inclusivity, and fun at the beach. It's a great chance to explore the beautiful Bargara coastline in a welcoming environment that caters to all abilities.
