Zoo Keeper Talks - Winter School Holidays 2026

School Holiday Zoo Keeper Talks Return to Alexandra Park Zoo
Families looking for a free and educational school holiday activity can head to Alexandra Park Zoo these winter holidays for a series of Zoo Keeper Talks.
Running throughout the school holiday period from 27 June to 12 July, the talks give visitors the opportunity to learn more about the animals that call the zoo home while hearing directly from the keepers who care for them every day. Entry to both the zoo and the keeper talks is completely free.
The talks are designed for all ages and provide a chance to learn about animal behaviour, conservation, feeding routines and the unique characteristics of different species. Children can ask questions, watch feeding sessions and enjoy seeing the animals up close in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Located in the heart of Bundaberg, Alexandra Park Zoo is home to a variety of native and exotic animals including reptiles, birds, wallabies, emus and the popular cotton-top tamarins. Visitors are welcome to explore the zoo at their own pace before or after attending a keeper talk.
No bookings are required, making it an easy activity for families, grandparents and visitors to the region. Simply check the holiday timetable and meet the keeper at the designated exhibit.
