24 hours in Hervey Bay
24 hours in Hervey Bay with kids
The glorious city of Hervey Bay is located on the coast of Queensland, approx 290 km from our State Capital of Brisbane. It's part of the Fraser Coast Regional Council and Wide Bay region.
The Indigenous Butchulla people are the original custodians of Hervey Bay including beautiful Fraser Island, K'gari in local language.
We holidayed in Hervey Bay regularly when i was in primary school. I have fond memories of burring my sisters in the sand at Shelly Beach, tasting salt in my hair after being in the ocean all day, and walking along the esplanade at night to get ice-creams. Hervey Bay holds a special place in my heart, and it's always so nice to return . I love bringing my kids to Hervey Bay, here are a few of our favourite things to do!
Where to Stay?
We stay at Oaks Resort and Spa Hervey Bay. It's located on the Esplanade at Urangan Beach. There are modern one, two and three-bedroom suites with spacious lounge and dining areas. We stay on the ground floor with direct access to the pool! This is perfect for the kids.
On our last visit, immediately after check-in, we ordered room service which was delivered pretty quickly from the Bayswater Bar and Grill. It included a couple of cocktails which made sitting out by the pool an even greater experience! The kids loved the pool area which includes lagoon style pools with a water park play area for little onesThings to do
