Ol Meri Wantok Bundaberg is a budding social enterprise created by a group of Papua New Guinean Women in 2010. These ladies were living in the Bundaberg Region with the objective to connect with ladies from different Pacific Island Nations, to come together and promote their Island arts and craft.
Ol Meri Wantok Bundaberg was officially established in 2013 as a nonprofit organisation, with the aim to promote Papua New Guinean and many other South Pacific Island Nation’s Cultural Arts and Craft. Over the years they have hosted many programs and events in the Bundaberg Region, today the group have expanded with members and supporters all over Australia. We have sister groups in Papua New Guinea, Ol Meri Wantok - Eastern Highlands Province and Ol Meri Wantok - Madang, as a group we share thoughts and ideas to help improve and create income streams for Village families.
We support and host numerous events and programs within the community with the support and assistance of Bundaberg Regional Council, Bundaberg & District Neighbourhood Centre, Bundaberg South Sea Islanders Heritage Association Inc and many other local organisations. Our main focus is sharing the different Cultures and Traditions within the community. We believe that in doing so, this helps contribute towards the well-being of all involved. This enables embracing families, building friendship and sharing cultures.
