Access Recreation Bundaberg Disability Services
Access Recreation opened in Bundaberg in early 2021, after successfully helping people with a disability in Rockhampton and surrounding regions for over 30 years.
Access Recreation may not be the largest disability support organisation in Bundaberg, however, this is one of their advantages. They have a small and very knowledgeable team of professionals who are able to spend time getting to know their clients and make sure they are the right fit. The team at Access Recreation believe ensuring clients are matched with the right lifestyle support worker is key for a successful and supportive relationship. Staff are passionate about supporting clients in a community where every person has the opportunity to live life to their full potential. The Bundaberg team at Access Recreation believe in providing holistic support, respecting choices and empowering people to achieve their goals and dreams.
Access Recreation is a not-for-profit organisation, offering support to people with a disability aged from 7-65 years. They strive to improve the quality of life for all people with a disability, they provide support ranging from plan management, short term accommodation, assistance with daily living, community access support and activities plus more services added as the organisation grows.
Access Recreation believes in creating a community of people to support a person with a disability. They do this differently for each client, it is not a one size fits all approach. Some techniques include; forming natural connections through mainstream community networks, fostering independence with tailored activities and programs or providing informal and formal support. This person centred approach is why many people in the Bundaberg community are choosing Access Recreation for disability support.
