Alexandra and Anzac Park Proposed Improvements!?
Alexandra and Anzac Park Proposed Improvements!?
The Burnett Riverside is an iconic location in the heart of Bundaberg. The Draft Bundaberg Riverside Master Plan contains a number of initiatives that would see this space better utilised and Bundaberg Regional Council wants us to have our say on these proposed changes before July 27. Council is concerned that many residents may be unaware that aspects of the plan could relate to them and I am putting my hand up, I’m one of them.
Council wants to hear from Mums and Dads and everyday residents about how they feel about the changes proposed in the draft plan.
There is a ‘temporary activation’ concept in the plan which would see the Alexandra Park area more commonly used for activities like events, fitness classes, outdoor movies, and temporary markets.
I think families may be interested to know the plan proposes to extend Alexandra Park Zoo along Quay St, across Burrum St. The Plan includes a proposal for improvements around Anzac Park and Anzac Pool including a zero-depth water play facility and area for supporting businesses.
The Council would like each of us to take the time to read through the plan and provide them with any feedback – whether it be in support of or against the proposed plan. The draft riverside master plan is a long-term vision and, once adopted will roll out over about 20 years.
You can find the full Draft Bundaberg Riverside Master Plan HERE read from pages 26 to 30 to see what is proposed for both Alexandra and Anzac Parks and everywhere in between. You can provide your feedback to Council HERE but this need to be done by the 27th July, so get cracking! Let me know what you think of the proposed changes?
