Tasty Treats to Tempt you at the Childers Festival
Tasty Treats to Tempt you at the Childers Festival
Be prepared to take your tastebuds for a tour of the world at this year’s Childers Festival! Whether you’re in the mood for scrumptious savouries, out to satisfy your sweet tooth or keen to try something exotic, the 94 food vendors who have already confirmed their attendance at next weekend’s festival will have something for everyone!
The flavours will be inspired from regions across the globe with stalls featuring cuisine from Thailand, Turkey, Greece and Germany and everywhere in between.
Gourmet Calamari owner Jim Wensley is no stranger to the Eat Street Markets in Brisbane and Eumundi Markets on the Sunshine Coast but he travels the 200km to take part in the Childers Festival.
We’ve been coming to the Childers Festival for at least seven years. It’s good fun and there is always a really good crowd. Everyone’s out for a good time at the Childers Festival and we have a really good following there. All of our calamari is cooked fresh to order and served on a bed of rocket with lemon and homemade sauces.
Keep an eye out for the Childers stallholders who’ll be serving up a treat on the day including Childers Scout Group, Childers Combined Services Club, Goodwood State School P&C, Bamboozled, Icy Cold Lemonade, Mammino Gourmet Ice Cream and Organo Gold. The Bundaberg Nepalese Community will also be selling traditional Nepalese fare in support of earthquake victims.
The 2015 Childers Festival is on next weekend with some food vendors setting up from Saturday, July 25 and the all 94 food vendors set to line the streets on the main festival day, Sunday, July 26.
