Bundaberg’s New Family-Focused Community Hub Is Underway
A new community hub centred around the needs of children and families is being developed in Bundaberg through a collaboration between Impact Community Services and Wide Bay Kids. The initiative responds to strong community feedback calling for a central space where families can feel welcome, supported, and connected to the services they need.
- Family-friendly focus
- Access to support in one place
- Inclusive space for children and carers
- Shaped by local voices
The hub will be a place-based, integrated model that brings together services like early childhood programs, education, health and wellbeing, and mental health support all under one roof. The goal is to make access easier and more holistic, removing the need for families to navigate multiple systems in isolation.
Wide Bay Kids will facilitate the project, using their grassroots experience and strong local connections to keep the focus firmly on what Bundaberg and Hervey Bay families actually want. Impact Community Services, with decades of experience in the region, has provided seed funding and will support the project’s development in partnership.
The hub is expected to open its doors in the coming months, with planning now underway to secure a suitable location and bring service providers on board. Expressions of interest are currently open for families, local organisations, and businesses to share ideas or get involved.
