Connections Play Therapy and Consultancy sponsor Easter in the Gardens 2024 with their Egg 'A Sense of Wonder'.
Connections Play Therapy and Consultancy has been operating since June 2021, offering Play Therapy to children 2-12 years old and Consultancy to Early Childhood Services, educators and teachers. Play Therapy aims to bring a sense of healing, understanding and inclusivity to children that require support psychologically, and with behavioural patterns. Because children use play as a natural means of communication, the Therapist forms a trusting and safe relationship with the child via play, either acting out real-life experiences or acting out their internal dialogue in a metaphorical or literal play-based manner.
We believe in supporting local community and especially events that promote connection and a sense of wonder within the family unit and an activity that is free and accessible to families in our region.

Meet the Artist: Julie Hylands
Julie Hylands is a visual artist whose practice incorporates painting, light, installation and 3 dimensional works.
After completing a BA Visual Art with Honours in 2003 in Western Australia, she has held ten solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions. Julie relocated to Qld in 2015 where she currently practices from her home studio.
Julies’ practice is inspired through her presence in and around the ocean culminating in works that suggest a sense of depth, translucency and allure with many dichotomies at play - light/dark; surface/depth, movement/stillness.
The artworks are multilayered and possess organic and otherworldly properties that hint at the sublime. She aims at a self reflective experience for the viewer.
