KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH REGION’S YOUTH
This Bundaberg Regional Council Event is keeping in touch with region’s youth by creating this sport event for all the youngsters out there!
Youth week is all about celebrating the region’s youngsters, and what better way than with some fun in the sun?
Community Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said Council had partnered with PCYC Bundaberg to deliver a Beach Touch Football event at Nielson Park Beach, Bargara as part of the National Youth Week Celebrations.
“This event is for all young people ages five and up, with teams being split in to two categories with those 12 years and over playing beach touch rules and those 11 years and under playing modified rules,” Cr Peters said.
“It will be a wonderful day out to celebrate the region’s youth and enjoy fun and fitness at this beautiful location.
“Bring along the family and join us in the celebrations!”
Cr Peters said the event would culminate in two showcase games with the Bundaberg Bunburra beach touch teams playing against players selected across the day.
“We’ll be keeping a close eye on the games throughout the day to select seven boys and seven girls to play against our local team to demonstrate the skills they have learnt throughout the day.”
The Bundy Beach Touch event will be held on Wednesday, April 15 from 10am to 1pm at Nielson Park Beach Bargara. Trophies and prizes will be awarded on the day.
To register to play, contact Terri Gilbert at Bundaberg PCYC on 4154 2813.
