Learning In and With Nature: Bundaberg – Taribelang Bunda Country is a full-day professional development workshop for educators working with children aged 0–12 years in early childhood and outside school hours care (OOSH) settings. Delivered by Bush Kindy Australia, the workshop explores Nature Pedagogy, outdoor learning and practical ways educators can bring nature play into their everyday programs and environments.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday 7 October 2026 from 7am–2pm at Moore Park Beach, Taribelang Bunda Country. It is designed to give educators both the theory behind nature-based learning and practical strategies they can confidently use within their own services.

Participants will explore the philosophy and foundations of Nature Pedagogy, the benefits of outdoor learning and nature play, child-led and inquiry-based learning, loose parts play and risky play. The workshop also looks at how nature play can support the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and My Time, Our Place (MTOP), including how educators can communicate learning through curriculum documentation.

The day will include hands-on activities, practical learning and real examples from early childhood services across Queensland and Australia. Educators will also explore ways to implement Nature Pedagogy within existing service play spaces, as well as the connections between nature play, community and culture.

The workshop is delivered by experienced and qualified Nature Play and Bush Kindy trainers who actively work in the field and bring practical experience and examples from services they work with.

Participants will receive a printed workbook and access to a digital resource hub, along with tea and coffee. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
