The Mammino Ice Cream Story
This month we are sharing the Mammino Ice Cream Story. Childers is synonymous with Mammino Ice Cream. If you have never tried one, WOW you have been missing out! Described as a home hand made gourmet ice cream, words that spring to my mind when I think of Mammino’s are………smooth, creamy, soft, velvety, and………YUM!
The Mammino’s are a local family based in Childers who own cane and macadamia nut farms. What started out in 1996 as something to do while the kids were at school has turned into the Mammino Ice Cream business of today. Their factory is located on Lucketts Road at Childers were you can stop and enjoy an ice cream as well as watch the production process through a viewing window. They also have a retails store at 89 Churchill Street in Childers where they offer ice cream, coffee, cake and slices.
The Mammino’s sell their gourmet ice creams in over 60 retail outlets and attend events and festivals all over Queensland and Northern New South Wales. They currently sell 7 types of macadamia nut ice creams as well as fruit and liquor flavours and sorbets. Their ice creams range from ‘red dirt’ jaffa macadamia to my favourite mouthwatering mango.
