Maryborough Mural Trail Holiday Hunt!
Wondering what to do with the Kids these School Holidays? Try the Maryborough Mural Trail Holiday Hunt!
Families are being encouraged to collect a trail brochure and walk the eight city blocks while answering questions about the 37 featured city murals. The Trail is a flat walk over a distance of two kilometres and will take about 1.5 hours to complete.
The Mural Trail Holiday Hunt officially starts on Friday, 13th December with children eligible to win prizes when they complete the trail and enter the draw.
Competition entry is open to all children below the age of 16 (however adults are welcome to try to answer the questions too). Question sheets as well as the Trail Brochure will be available from the Visitor Information Centre in Kent Street, Maryborough from Friday 13th!
The competition will close at 5pm on Sunday, January 12. All correct entries will be put in a barrel and the winners of the prizes drawn on Friday, January 17.
The Details:
- Stars Friday, 13 December and Finishes Sunday, 12 January
- Collect Question Sheet and Trail Brochure at Visitor Information Centre, Kent Street, Maryborough
- Walk the mural trail, answering the questions as you go!
- Pop your answers in the draw for your chance to win a prize! Drawn Sunday, 17 January
- The walk will take about 1.5 hours to complete
While out exploring the city, buy an ice-cream, visit the city shops, art gallery or museum and have lunch at a local cafe.
Local businesses and community groups are supporting this initiative, aimed at getting kids away from their screens, outside, and walking the Maryborough Mural Trail! Founders of the Maryborough Mural Project Elizabeth Lowrie and Deborah Hannam are hopeful families will make a day of it.
“We will be searching for the region’s best super sleuths,” said Deborah Hannam. “Those who can find all of the correct answers will go into a draw where a treasure-trove of great kids’ prizes can be won!
