Nielsons Beach Park and Playground Bargara
Nielsons Beach Park and Playground Bargara
This great park and playground is located seaside on the Esplanade, Nielsons Beach Park at Bargara and is fabulous for kids of all ages. Shade sails cover the playground area so your Wide Bay Kids may play out of the sun. Adjoining the playground is the old skating rink , the local skate park, and an outdoor half court basketball court.
Playground
This playground has one fort like structure with plenty of climbing and sliding opportunities, a seesaw, and swings for younger children. For older children and adults there are two great play structures. This park is chip bark based and therefore not accessible by wheelchair. The playground is immediately in front of the Bargara Caravan Park and sits in the shade of the Surf Lifesaving building.
Old Skating Rink
The cement slab for the old skating rink adjoins the park. This large concreted area has help bars on one side and is frequented by locals with their roller skates, scooters, and toddlers on bikes.
Skate Park, Pathways, Basketball Court, Beach
There is a skate park for older children adjacent to the old skating rink. Younger kids can also have fun here if the park is not too busy. Pathways for bikes and scooters (shared with pedestrians) runs along the length of the Esplanade in a northerly direction to Mon Repos and in a southerly direction to Schuhkraft Park, and Bargara Turtle Park. An outdoor half court basketball court is within walking distance as is the patrolled Nielsons surf beach.
