Partner Up: Bringing Service Providers Together
The Partner Up Podcast project, driven by Wide Bay Kids Community Inc., is a forward-thinking initiative aimed at fostering collaboration among service providers, businesses, and community groups in Bundaberg. With a primary focus on improving access to support services for young adults aged 18–35, the project tackles critical issues like mental health, domestic violence, and employment support through innovative engagement strategies.
At the core of Partner Up is a Podcast, a series of episodes featuring interviews with service providers and community leaders. The podcast highlights successful programs, referral pathways, and real-world success stories from sectors such as disability support, alcohol and drug services, and family counselling. To broaden its reach, Wide Bay Kids also launched a YouTube web series, ensuring the project’s message resonates with a wider audience.
Collaboration played a key role in the project’s success. Wide Bay Kids partnered with organisations such as the Bundaberg Family and Baby Network, Impact Community Services, and Bridges Community & Care to enhance service awareness and build stronger connections across sectors. By reducing silos and encouraging integrated service delivery, Partner Up strengthened the local support network.
The project’s impact exceeded expectations. Stakeholders reported improved relationships and greater awareness of available services, which facilitated collaborative problem-solving. The podcast became a platform for essential conversations, helping to identify gaps and opportunities within the regional support system.
Looking ahead, Wide Bay Kids plans to expand the podcast to cover additional topics and include a broader range of guest speakers. The relationships established through Partner Up provide a strong foundation for future initiatives, ensuring continued benefits for the community.
