Bundaberg Baptist Family Day Care Scheme is hosting their ‘Active Kids’ holiday program over the December/January School Holidays.
The holiday program, which has received a grant from the Medibank Community Fund, will run three free sessions (two at Alexandra Park and one at the Family Day Care premises at 14 Fitzgerald Street, Bundaberg).
The first activity will be run by YMCA Bundaberg. Coach Jamie will put the kids through their paces with lots of fun athletic games and activities. This bootcamp is especially designed just for kids and will be run at Alexandra Park, Quay Street from 3pm on Wednesday, 17 December.
Bundaberg Baptist Family Day Care Scheme spokesperson, Angela Stedman, said all activities were free and available for everyone in the Bundaberg community.
“The ‘Active Kids’ program provides exciting experiences for our local community. It creates opportunities for families to participate in activities together, making it fun family activity.” said Mrs Stedman.
Active Kids is just one of the community programs provided to children and families coordinated by Bundaberg Baptist Family Day Care Scheme. Mrs Stedman said “We pride ourselves on providing quality childcare and educational programs for families. We work alongside quality educators who are passionate about working with children.”
The Service was recently recognised by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) for outstanding service. The Service received an Excellent Rating – the highest rating a service can achieve – being among only 20 other child care services in Australia to be awarded Excellence.
“This rating is a tremendous achievement for our Service. When you consider how many child care centres, kindergartens, outside school hours care providers and family day care services there are across Australia, to be one of only 20 providers to receive this honour is amazing”, Mrs Stedman said.
Rhee Taekwon-Do Bundaberg and Unique Dance Studio will also be running further Active Kids Sessions in the New Year with a free martial arts session and hip hop dance lesson sure to keep the kids entertained.
