Shaped Biscuit Recipe
Shaped Biscuit Recipe
This is the fabulous recipe I used when I made personalised Father’s Day biscuits for my Hubby. This recipe works well for all types of shaped biscuits. You could add spices such as vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, or ginger to change the flavour. I think lemon rind and juice would also work. I found this recipe at All Recipes. They suggest adding things like hundreds and thousands, peanut butter, or almonds to change it up a bit.
The biscuits take about 10 minutes to prepare and 8 minutes to cook, so they’re super easy and pretty much ready in 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
- 125 g softened butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- pinch salt
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup self raising flour
- 1 egg
- splash of milk
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add salt and mix
- Add egg and mix.
- Add the flour 1/2 cup at a time, and mix with each addition.
- Add splash of milk if dry and mix.
- Knead the dough until it is supple, then roll out on floured surface.
- Cut using a cookie cutters.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes – a lesser time for a nice soft biscuit, longer time for a harder biscuit – just keep an eye on them.
