With just two weeks to go until our inaugural U-Beach Community Beach Day in Bundaberg, I am excited to announce our confirmed equipment and activities!
Beach mobility will be supported by a range of equipment!Mobi mat for beach access (thanks Bundaberg Regional CouncilSandcruiser beach wheelchair (thanks Bundaberg Regional Council)2x magic x8 off-road power wheelchairs (thanks Independent Living Specialists)2+ hippocampe beach wheelchairs (thanks Independent Living Specialists and Bundaberg Disability Resource Centre Incorporating the Toy Library)2x molift hoists with slings to support transfers to wheelchairs (thanks Independent Living Specialists)We also have a number of physiotherapy and occupational therapy clinicians and students to support transfers, beach mobiiity and participation in beach activitiesWe have a lifeguard on duty and a range of beach activities including walking/wheeling, water activities, sandcastle building, beach cricket, beach soccer, parachute game, and rock artWe also have free bbq and raffle ($5 tickets) to fundaraise for a floating beach wheelchair to support water transitionsThere will be plenty of shade and you can grab a cuppa or snack from The Beach Mill
